Earning with blogs is very popular online. An average person can start a blog absolutely free and be up and running within just minutes.

Blogs are very easy to make which makes them perfect for promoting affiliate programs. Another great thing about using a blog is that the search engines, like Google love them and will regularly come by to index your postings. For this method to be effective you must post to your blog on a regular basis and be sure that you are strategically putting relevant keywords in your posts.

If done correctly your search engine ranking will score high and you will receive highly targeted free traffic to your blog that you can then send through your affiliate links.

The Everyday Affiliate will not try to cover every aspect of how to blog for money as it is a study in and of itself. But you will have a good idea on how to get started and earn from blogging.

There is no technical experience needed to succeed with blogging. All that you need is your computer and something to write about.

The difference with blogging and article writing is that with blogging your trying to draw traffic rather than drive traffic.

Where article marketing you are using the popularity of the directories that you submit to to drive traffic to a website or blog. With blogging you are a stand alone entity trying to draw traffic directly to your blog. You can still write articles to drive traffic to your blog, but the main purpose is to ultimately have the blog draw traffic on its own.

Blogging also requires that you find good niches and keywords, but instead of writing articles about them, you're going to make posts. And With well researched keywords and quality content you can draw traffic to your blog over time.

A new blog takes about a year to get established enough to start earning decent income. This is why I recommend that When starting a new blog you write both posts for the blog and also submit articles to directories to drive more traffic.

Here are a few tips that you'll want to remember when starting a blog:

1) The title of your blog should have your main keywords within it. For example if your blog will be about gardening and you researched and found the keyword "backyard gardening tips" then you should name your blog backyard gardening tips and you should also purchase the domain name backyard gardening tips as this will help you rank higher in the search engines.

2) Post Frequently to your blog. Try to make atleast 3 posts a week to your blog, but your goal is once a day. Doing this will keep your blog fresh and the search engines visiting consistently. The more content you have the more visitors. If you build it,
they will come.

3) In the beginning supplement your blog with articles and use the ranking of major article directories like ezinearticles and articlebase to drive traffic to your blog.

4) Place google adsense on your blog. It may just be pennies in the beginning, but there's no cents in not getting it. After about a month of consistent posting you should see daily clicks on your adsense ads.
